Children's Wednesday - a comedy for children

Hrvatski dom Hall
Dejan Fajfer and Goran Smoljanović in the children's play Majstori

A humorous children's comedy about two workmen who turn the seemingly simple task of installing a traffic light into a series of entertaining problems. Through slapstick humour and audience participation, Leopold and Ivek try to find a solution by trial and error.

What could possibly go wrong when two completely different workmen are given the seemingly simple task of installing a traffic light?

“Majstori” is a children's comedy inspired by the slapstick humour of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton. Leopold is a capable workman, but also boastful and self-important, while his apprentice Ivek is curious, clumsy and somewhat lazy.

Because of their contrasting personalities, the two constantly find themselves facing new problems. As they try to complete the job properly, they rely on trial and error and involve the audience in finding solutions. Interaction with the children becomes an important part of the performance and of their attempts to finish the task.

Through physical comedy, misunderstandings and situational humour, the play provides plenty of laughter while encouraging children to think, cooperate and participate actively.
